A unique mix of huge art gallery, cafes with great food, bars, public space for farmers markets, and theaters in a former slaughterhouse. Worth the 20m subway from the city center.

One of the main cultural centerpoints in Madrid, huge complex incl movies, performing arts etc. Check the Casa del Reloj nearby where sometimes exhibitions take place.

If you're planning to visit Madrid, please, have a look at Matadero's program. There´s always a reason to attend some. ATTENTION!! It closed on Mondays.

Love this place!! Such a cool center with free art exhibits (open after 4 pm), a film center, a cafe, restaurant, performance hall...you can walk around the buildings for free. Events on weekends.

Very nice art center with interesting exhibitions. The only thing I don’t like is its name and what it was meant for. It’s like transforming a concentration camp into a museum.
