高さ186m、日本一高いダム。川底の削剥を防ぐため、霧状にして放水する。ダムカードは、黒部ダムレストハウス売店(7:30~16:50、11/4以降8:30~15:50)・扇沢売店(8:30~18:00、11/4以降9:30~17:00)で関電トンネルトロリーバスか立山黒部アルペンルート乗車券提示でもらえる。
